Women's golf team finishes in fifth-place at DePauw Small College Classic
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in fifth-place today at the DePauw University Small College Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Indiana.
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in fifth-place today at the DePauw University Small College Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Indiana.
The Lady Comets had a two-day team score of 708 (350-358) strokes. The host Tigers were first (out of 13 teams) with a 650 (321-329). University of California-Santa Cruz was second with a 678, Albion College was third with a 695 and Manchester (Ind.) College finished in fourth with a 699.
Individually, sophomore Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) earned all-tournament honors as she tied for fifth-place with a 165 (82-83). Freshman Jennifer Lambarth (Saline High School) was next with a 178 (86-92). Junior Katie Edick (Charlotte High School) had a 185 (86-99), followed by freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo Mattawan High School) with a 186 (96-90). Freshman Amanda Sanders (Concord High School) rounded out the Comet starting lineup with a 190 (97-93).
Sophomore Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union High School), junior Wendy Mickelwait (Middleville/ Thornapple Kellogg High School) and sophomore Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) all competed as individuals and finished with scores of 181, 188 and 198, respectively.
Olivet will next compete at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9 at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. Hope College is the host.
