Women's golf team captures Aquinas College Invitational title
The Olivet College women’s golf team captured the team title today at the Aquinas College Invitational held at the Scott Lake Country Club in Comstock Park. The team title is the third for the Lady Comets this fall.
The Olivet College women’s golf team captured the team title today at the Aquinas College Invitational held at the Scott Lake Country Club in Comstock Park. The team title is the third for the Lady Comets this fall.
Olivet tallied a team score of 335 strokes to finish 31 strokes ahead of the host Saints, who had a 366. Bethel (Ind.) and Calvin colleges were third with a 373.
Individually, freshman Jennifer Lambarth (Saline High School) was second with an 80. Sophomore Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) was fourth with an 82. Freshman Amanda Sanders (Concord High School) and sophomore Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) had an 86 and 87, respectively.
Junior Katie Edick (Charlotte High School) had a round of 89 strokes, followed by freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo Mattawan High School) with a 90. Sophomore Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union High School) played as an individual and shot a 93.
Olivet is idle until Sunday and Monday, Oct. 3-4, when it participates in the DePauw (Ind.) University Small College Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Indiana.
