Women's golf team breaks school record with first-place finish at Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) Invitational
The Olivet College women’s golf team broke the school record today with a first-place finish at the Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) College Invitational at the Big Met Golf Course in Fairview Park.
The Olivet College women’s golf team broke the school record today with a first-place finish at the Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) College Invitational at the Big Met Golf Course in Fairview Park.
The Lady Comets tallied a 322 team score to break the previous school mark by eight strokes. Olivet finished 15 strokes ahead of NAIA foe Walsh (Ohio) University. The host Yellow Jackets were third with a 341.
Individually, sophomore Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) birdied the third playoff hole to earn medalist honors. She had a round of 78 strokes to tie her own school record.
Freshman Jennifer Lambarth (Saline High School) tied her season-best round with an 80. Freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo Mattawan High School) was next with an 81, followed by freshman Amanda Sanders (Concord High School) and sophomore Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) with an 83 and 87, respectively.
Junior Katie Edick (Charlotte High School) rounded out the Olivet lineup with a 97. Sophomore Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union High School) competed as an individual and fired a 91.
The Comets will next hit the links Wednesday, Sept. 29, when they participate in the Aquinas College Invitational at the Scott Lake Country Club in Grand Rapids.
