Women’s golf team finishes in third-place at MIAA Jamboree #3
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in third-place today at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3 at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in third-place today at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3 at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
The Lady Comets had a team score of 346 strokes to finish behind Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College with a 321 and Albion College with a 335. After three league jamborees, Saint Mary’s has a commanding 47 stroke lead with a 996. Olivet and Albion are tied for second with 1,043 strokes. The final two MIAA rounds are a two-day championship Oct. 8-9 at Bedford Valley Country Club.
Individually, sophomore Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) was fourth today with an 83 (41-42). She was followed by freshman Jennifer Lambarth (Saline High School) an 86 (42-44). Freshman Amanda Sanders (Concord High School) was next with an 88 (45-43) and junior Katie Edick (Charlotte High School) and freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo Mattawan High School) had an 89. Sophomore Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) rounded out the Olivet lineup with a 97.
Sophomores Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union High School) and Wendy Mickelwait (Middleville/ Thornapple Kellogg High School) competed as individuals for the Comets. Mickelwait had an 85, and Nicolai finished with a 91.
Olivet will travel to compete at the Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) College Lady Yellow Jacket Invitational tomorrow, Sept. 26 at the Big Met Golf Course.
