The Olivet College women’s golf team stands in second-place (out of six teams) after the first round of the Lady Comets' Fall Invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Olivet College women’s golf team stands in second-place (out of six teams) after the first round of the Lady Comets' Fall Invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. Olivet tallied a team score of 357 strokes, just four strokes behind leader Albion College. Tomorrow’s second round is a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Individually, freshman Jennifer Lambarth (Saline High School) is fourth with an 86 (43-43). She is one stroke behind a trio of golfers with an 85. Following her is sophomore Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) with an 89 (44-45). Junior Katie Edick (Charlotte High School) is next with a 90 (44-46) and freshmen Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo Mattawan High School) and Amanda Sanders (Concord High School) have a 92. Junior Wendy Mickelwait (Middleville/Thornapple Kellogg High School) rounds out the Comet first-teamers with a 103.
Sophomores Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union High School), Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) and Amanda London (Marshall High School) competed as individuals and shot rounds of 99, 100 and 104, respectively.
After tomorrow’s second round, Olivet is next in action Wednesday, Sept. 22, when it participates in the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association jamboree at the Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo. Kalamazoo College is the host of the jamboree.
