The Olivet College women's golf team stands in 15th-place after the first round of the Ferris State Bulldog Invitational at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids. The second round begins tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
The Lady Comets tallied a team score of 364 strokes. The host Bulldogs lead the 19 team field with a 296. The field consists of NAIA and NCAA Division II and III schools.
Sophomore Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) leads Olivet with an 85. Freshman Jennifer Lambrath (Saline High School) fired an 89. Freshman Stephanie Pott (Kalamazoo Mattawan High School) had a 94, followed by junior Wendy Mickelwait (Middleville/Thornapple Kellogg High School) with a 96 and junior Katie Edick (Charlotte High School) and freshman Amanda Sanders (Concord High School) with a 97. Sophomore Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) competed as an individual and shot a 93.
Following tomorrow's round, Olivet is idle until it competes in the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Pine Rivers Country Club. Alma College will serve as the host.
