Olivet College’s Hankins named MIAA Player of the Week
Olivet College senior guard Shauni Hankins has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for women’s basketball.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior guard Shauni Hankins has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for women's basketball.
Hankins scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Comets to a 79-52 win over Kalamazoo College Dec. 12 at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet. She made 8-of-12 baskets, including three from behind the three-point arc. Hankins also had four assists, two rebounds and a steal. She has reached double figures in points in each of Olivet's three MIAA games this season. Overall in eight games, Hankins is averaging a team-best 11.4 points per game, and is second with 18 assists and 15 steals.
Olivet is back in action Wednesday night when it travels to play Albion College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
