Women’s basketball: Lang tabbed MIAA Player of the Week
Olivet College senior center Stefanie Lang has been selected as the MIAA Player of the Week for women’s basketball. She is earning this honor for the second time this season and the seventh time in her career.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior center Stefanie Lang has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week for women's basketball. She is earning this honor for the second time this season and the seventh time in her career.
Lang averaged 20 points and 13.5 rebounds, helping the Comets split two MIAA contests last week. She surpassed the 1,000 career point plateau when she scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 73-53 loss to Hope College. Lang then had 22 points and 13 rebounds in a 73-61 win at Adrian College. For the week, she made 19-of-36 (52.8 percent) baskets.
Lang leads the MIAA in scoring (17.9 ppg), rebounding (12.9 rpg) and double-doubles (12). She is also tied for second in total blocked shots (26).
Lang and the Comets return to the court Wednesday night when they travel to play Saint Mary's (Ind.) College at 7:30 p.m. Olivet then begins the second half of its MIAA schedule Saturday with a 3 p.m. home game against Albion College.
