Olivet College’s Lang selected to WBCA All-America Honorable Mention team
Olivet College junior 6’4” center Stefanie Lang (Valparaiso, Ind.) continues to earn postseason honors. The most recent selection was being named to the 2013-14 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III All-America honorable mention team.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior 6'4" center Stefanie Lang (Valparaiso, Ind.) continues to earn postseason honors. The most recent selection was being named to the 2013-14 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III All-America honorable mention team.
Lang averaged 21.0 points and 13.9 rebounds per game, helping the Comets post a 22-4 overall record this season. She set new single-season school records in points (526), field goals made (217), field goals attempted (405), rebounds (348) and blocked shots (44). In addition, Lang broke the Olivet single-game scoring (43 points) vs. Kenyon (Ohio) College and rebounding (27) vs. Muskingum (Ohio) University. In the final NCAA DIII rankings, she tied for the lead with 22 double-doubles, while her rebounding average was fifth and scoring average was 23rd.
Lang is believed to be the first women's basketball player in school history to earn postseason honors from the WBCA. In addition to this honor, she earned first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and second-team D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region honors.
