Olivet College’s Lang tabbed MIAA Co-Player of the Week for women’s basketball
For the third time this season, Olivet College junior Stefanie Lang has been tabbed the MIAA Player of the Week for women’s basketball. She shares the honor this week with Rebekah Llorens from Hope College.
OLIVET, Mich. – For the third time this season, Olivet College junior Stefanie Lang (Valparaiso, Ind.) has been tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week for women's basketball. She shares the honor this week with Rebekah Llorens from Hope College.
In only 17 minutes of playing time, Lang posted her seventh straight double-double of the season in Olivet's 99-51 win over Alma College Dec. 14 at the Art Smith Arena in Alma. She led all scorers with 29 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Lang was almost perfect in the contest, making 12-of-14 baskets and 5-of-5 free throws for her 29 points.
Lang is averaging 26.9 points and 16.4 rebounds in seven contests this season. She is shooting 59.5 percent from the floor and 74.4 percent from the charity stripe. Logging 179 minutes on the court, Lang has committed just seven turnovers.
The Comets continue MIAA play Wednesday night when they host Adrian College. Tip-off from inside The Cutler Event Center is 7:30 p.m.
