OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College Head Women's Basketball Coach Nicole Burford recently participated in the NCAA-Black Coaches and Administrators Achieving Coaching Excellence (ACE) program June 5-8 at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Ind.
The ACE program is designed to provide a professional development opportunity for current NCAA collegiate men's and women's basketball coaches. ACE is committed to preparing racial and ethnic minority collegiate basketball coaches for success as future head basketball coaches.
ACE provided participants an opportunity to engage and interact with current NCAA head basketball coaches, director of athletics and leaders involved in intercollegiate athletics. The selected participants received training and education in the areas of leadership, communication, campus relations, media, community involvement and program management.
"I was honored to be chosen in a select group to participate in this year's ACE program," said Burford. "I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best current coaches, administrators and leaders in intercollegiate athletics, as well as interact with 24 other coaches from across the country who participated with me. This was an amazing experience that will be a huge role in my continual growth as a person, coach and leader."
