The Comets trailed by five points, 41-36, at halftime behind 64 percent (16-of-25) shooting from the floor. In the second half, the Saints (12-0) shot 40.7 percent and outscored Olivet, 32-18. The Comets made 8-of-24 baskets in the second 20 minutes.
Off the bench, freshman Ameina Ross (Lansing/Everett) had a team-high 13 points. Senior Amy Brackenwagen (Grand Ledge) joined her in double figures with 11 points. She also grabbed a team-leading nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Junior Lauren Fishwich (Trenton) contributed nine points, while sophomore Nykole Pfaff (Goodrich/Powers Catholic) had eight points and four assists.
Jolene Fuzesy scored a game-high 22 points to lead Carroll. Elly Bruursema and Caitlin Courchaine had 15 and 11 points, respectively. Hannah Heidenreich pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
Olivet will now begin preparations for its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener next Saturday, Dec. 8, against Adrian College. Tip-off from the Upton Center is 3 p.m.
