Women's basketball team falls to Kalamazoo, 66-59
The Olivet College women's basketball team out-rebounded Kalamazoo College, 41-29, but it was not enough as the Lady Hornets stung the Lady Comets, 66-59, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) game today at the Anderson Athletic Center.

Olivet (6-11, 0-7 MIAA) held an early five-point lead, 8-3, at the 14:53 mark. Following two ties, including 15-15, Kalamazoo (12-6, 5-3 MIAA) used a 13-2 run for its biggest lead of the first half. Kalamazoo also led, 30-23, at halftime.
The Comets battled back and tied the game at, 47-47, with 7:56 left in the contest. The Hornets responded to lead by 11 points twice in the late stages of the game. Olivet was only able to trim the deficit to six points with five seconds left.
Sophomore center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genessee High School) led the Comets with 15 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Senior guard Molly Lipton (Ann Arbor/Pioneer High School) also contributed 15 points on five-of-nine shooting from behind the three-point arc. Senior Kim Strange (Ellsworth High School) had 11 points.
Olivet will next be in action on Wednesday, Jan. 28 when it hosts Hope College at 7:30 p.m.
Angie Neu scored 14 points to lead the Hornets. Stefanie Salasky came off the bench to score 12 points and grab seven rebounds.
