Olivet Falls to Taylor (Ind.), 76-62, in the First Round of the Taylor Holiday Classic
The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Taylor University, 76-62, last night in the first round of the Taylor Holiday Classic in Upland, Indiana. The Lady Comets now have a 4-4 overall record and will play Spalding College of Kentucky in the consolation game of the tournament this afternoon at 1 p.m.
UPLAND, IND. – The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Taylor University, 76-62, last night in the first round of the Taylor Holiday Classic in Upland, Indiana. The Lady Comets now have a 4-4 overall record and will play Spalding College of Kentucky in the consolation game of the tournament this afternoon at 1 p.m.
Leading the way for Olivet was sophomore Emily Fix (Comstock Park High School) with a game-high 27 points, which was also a career single-game high for Fix. She made eight-of-19 shots, including five three-pointers, and connected on six-of-six from the free throw line. Senior Louisa Grill (Williamston High School) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Christin Easterhaus paced the Lady Trojans with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Following today's game, Olivet will next play on Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 4-5, when it participates in the Alma College-St. Louis Rotary Classic. The Comets will open play against Aquinas at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
