Lady Comet Basketball Team Defeats Rochester, 60-43
The Olivet College women's basketball team defeated Rochester College, 60-43, tonight in a non-conference game at the Zion Christian Church. The Lady Comets now have a 3-2 overall record while the Warriors' overall record slips to 5-10 overall.
ROCHESTER HILLS, MICH. - The Olivet College women's basketball team defeated Rochester College, 60-43, tonight in a non-conference game at the Zion Christian Church. The Lady Comets now have a 3-2 overall record while the Warriors' overall record slips to 5-10 overall.
After a 7-7 tie, the Comets went on a 7-0 run to take a 14-7 lead with 8:21 left in the first half. Olivet then led again by seven points on two other occasions before the Warriors cut the lead to one point at the 1:16 mark. The Comets had a 19-17 lead at halftime.
The Warriors took a 24-23 lead with 16:50 left in the second half. The Comets then outscored the Warriors 33-11 to lead by as many as 21 points with 2:59 remaining.
Senior Louisa Grill (Williamston High School) led Olivet with a game-high 18 points. The Comets also out-rebounded Rochester, 49-30. Grill and freshman center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genesee High School) grabbed eight rebounds apiece.
Angie Kemp paced Rochester with 17 points.
Olivet will next be in action on Friday, Dec. 13 when it travels to play Spring Arbor University at 7 p.m.
