Olivet outdoor recreation teams finish fall season
OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet outdoor recreation teams recently completed its fall season. The Comets participated in four tournaments.
On October 4-6, Olivet placed second at the ACUI Upper Midwest Conference Championships, held at the MTA Home Grounds in Mason. Individual placers were Kaitlin Dyer, third-place ladies trap, third-place sporting clays and CAA ladies champion; Hope Wright, first-place ladies sporting clays and CAA ladies runner-up; Haley Oosterhouse, CAA ladies third-place; Tyler Chatell, CAA men's second-place; and Hunter Ambrosen, first-place men's trap.
On October 19-20, the Comets competed at the Hoosier Fall Invitational, hosted by Purdue and Grace College at Fulton County Gun Club. Wright took high overall lady in trap and high overall lady for the entire tournament.
On November 3, Olivet hosted its annual shoot against Michigan State University at the Bellevue Conservation Club. In a close match, the Comets walked away with the win by 25 birds to hold onto the traveling trophy for a second straight year.
On November 9, the Comets wrapped-up its season at the MI Collegiate Clay Target Championship against Hillsdale College, Ferris State University, Montcalm Community College and Michigan State. Olivet finished second in both skeet and sporting clays, and third in trap to place second-place overall.
The Comets will resume their schedule in the spring.
