Six Olivet College softball players have been named NFCA Scholar-Athletes for the 2010-11 academic year. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the entire academic year to qualify for the award.
Seventy-nine Olivet College student-athletes have been named to the 2010-11 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honor roll.
The softball team ended its season by splitting a home doubleheader with Kalamazoo College today on Senior Day at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. The Comets lost the first game, 12-8, and behind a complete game, two-hitter by sophomore Breanne Harmon (Quincy), they bounced back to win the nightcap, 12-0.
The softball team split a doubleheader with Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College this afternoon at the SMC Field in Notre Dame, Indiana. In game one, sophomore Ciara Santos (Lansing/Everett) hit a home run to lead off the eighth inning and lift Olivet to a 5-4 win. The Belles bounced back to win the nightcap, 12-0, in five innings.
The softball team split a MIAA doubleheader with the visiting Trine (Ind.) University Thunder in contrasting ways today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. After losing the first game 11-0 in five innings, the Comets bounced back to win the second game, 3-1.
The softball team split a pair of pitching duels in a MIAA doubleheader against Calvin College today at the Gainey Sports Complex in Grand Rapids. The Comets lost the first game 2-0, but bounced back to beat the Knights in the nightcap, 1-0.
The softball team was swept by MIAA rival Albion College in a doubleheader today at Dempsey Field in Albion. The Britons scored two runs in their last at-bat to win the first game, 6-5, and they plated eight runs over the final two innings to win the nightcap, 13-8.

The softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Adrian College today at the A.C. Softball Field. Adrian, ranked No. 13 in the most recent National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III poll, won by scores of 12-4 and 10-2 and both games ended after five innings because the mercy rule was invoked.

Each team used one big inning to pull out a victory, as Olivet scored five runs in the fifth inning to win the first game, 10-6, and Defiance pushed across eight runs in the sixth inning en route to a 10-4 victory in the nightcap.
