The Olivet College softball team swept a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader from Calvin College in its season-finale at the Calvin Field in Grand Rapids. The Comets posted a 6-3 win in the first game, which was completed today after being suspended because of rain last Saturday. Olivet took the nightcap, 8-0, which ended after six innings because of the eight-run mercy rule.

The Olivet College softball team split a doubleheader with Hope College today in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener at the Cutler Athletic Complex. The Comets shutout the Flying Dutch, 3-0, in the first game, and Hope returned the favor in the nightcap, shutting out the Comets, 1-0, in eight innings.

In their first game, the Comets had 18 hits en route to a 17-1 win over Elms (Mass.) College, and in the second game, they beat Drew (N.J.) University, 14-1. Both games ended after five innings due to the eight-run mercy rule.
