Softball team swept by Adrian, 10-1 and 6-2
The Olivet College softball team was swept by Adrian College today in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader at the Olivet High School Softball Field. The Bulldogs won by scores of 10-1 and 6-2.

The Olivet College softball team was swept by Adrian College today in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader at the Olivet High School Softball Field. The Bulldogs won by scores of 10-1 and 6-2.
In the first game, the Comets scored their only run in the first inning. Junior Anna Braner (Belmond, Iowa/Marshall) led off with a walk and hustled around the bases to score on a single by junior Beth DeLora (Muskegon/Oakridge). For the game, Olivet was held to four hits, all singles. DeLora was charged with the pitching loss, as she allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits in three and one-third innings in the circle.
In the second game, the Bulldogs scored three runs in the first and three more in the third to take a 6-0 lead. Olivet got one run back in the fifth when Braner walked and scored on a double in the left-center gap by junior Heidi Wear (Hastings/Wayland Union). The Comets tallied its second run in the sixth. Junior Kacey Darling (Hartford) singled up the middle, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single through the left-side of the infield by freshman Courtney Praski (New Lothrop).
Olivet out-hit Adrian, 8-6. Seven of nine starters had at least one hit, and Praski led the way two hits. An eighth starter, Braner, walked twice. In the circle, freshman Katie Harper (Vassar) was charged with the loss, giving up six runs on six hits in six innings of work.
The Comets return to the field Tuesday, April 8, for a home doubleheader against MIAA-rival Albion College. The first pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
