Olivet places eighth at MIAA Championship

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's cross country team placed eighth at the 2024 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship. Calvin University hosted the 8K race at the Gainey Athletic Complex.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The host Knights captured the MIAA title with 36 points, followed by Hope College (37).
- Olivet recorded 231 points, which was only eight more than seventh-place Alma College.
FOR THE COMETS
- Junior Anthony DeVito was Olivet's top runner, as he finished 8th with a career-best 8K time of 28:03.2.
- Freshman Luke Senters ran a season-best time of 28:29.7.
- Freshman Braeden Jones also had a season-best time at 29:38.7.
- Senior Kayden Shrock completed the race in 30:33.4.
- Freshman Izayha Givens posted a time of 30:33.8.
- Freshman Kutter Vanaken finished in 30:34.8.
UP NEXT
- Olivet competes in two weeks at the 2024 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, November 16. The race takes place at the Blue River Cross Country Course in Shelbyville, Indiana.
