Men’s cross country team competes at Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational
The Olivet College men’s cross country team competed today at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, which was hosted by Loyola University and on Montrose Beach in Chicago. One of the largest cross country meets in the Midwest, the invitational featured 539 runners from 45 schools, including NCAA and NAIA institutions and community colleges.
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Olivet College men's cross country team competed today at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, which was hosted by Loyola University and on Montrose Beach in Chicago. One of the largest cross country meets in the Midwest, the invitational featured 539 runners from 45 schools, including NCAA and NAIA institutions and community colleges.
Olivet's six runners completed the 8K race in season-best times. Freshman Andrew Benkovsky (Eaton Rapids) was the highest finisher for the Comets, as he finished it in 28:17. Freshman Greg Lutzke (Williamston) was not too far behind him in 28:56. Freshman Jalen Weaver (Albion) was next in 29:13, followed by senior Tom Sobleskey (Olivet) in 30:14.
Olivet is idle until Saturday, Oct. 15, when it runs at the Manchester (Ind.) College Spartan Invitational.
