Men's track and field team participates in Ernie Mousseau Track Classic
The Olivet College men’s track and field team participated in the 2011 Aquinas College/Ernie Mousseau Track Classic today at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's track and field team participated in the 2011 Aquinas College/Ernie Mousseau Track Classic today at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids. The unscored meet featured a mix of NCAA Division II and III schools, NAIA institutions and unattached athletes.
James Williams (Battle Creek/Central) tied for sixth-place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.21 seconds and was 12th in the 200-meter dash in 23.11 seconds. Edric Miller (Battle Creek/Central) ran the 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 23.35 seconds.
Arthur Williams (Lansing/Holt) placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.47). The 4x100-meter relay quartet of Arthur and James Williams, Miller and Joe Camble (Lansing/Waverly) finished in second-place for the men's best finish. Their time of 42.97 seconds was just one hundredth of a second slower than their school record time.
Justin Walter (Clarksville/Lakewood) was part of a three-way tie for sixth-place in the high jump. He cleared the bar at 1.80m/5'10.75".
The Comets return to action next Friday and Saturday, April 29-30 at the Hillsdale College "Gina" Relays.
