Men's track and field team places seventh at 2011 MIAA Jamboree
The men's track and field teams placed seventh with 171 points at the 2011 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree today at Adrian College.
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men's track and field teams placed seventh with 171 points at the 2011 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree today at Adrian College. Today's jamboree counts 50 percent towards determining the conference championship, with the field day determining the other 50 percent. Olivet will host the 2011 MIAA Field Day May 5-6 at the Kolassa Track.
The 4x100 relay team of Arthur Williams (Lansing/Holt), Joe Camble (Lansing/Waverly), Jesse Holmes (Springport) and James Williams (Battle Creek/Central) was fourth in 43.42 seconds. Camble finished in sixth-place in the 200-meter dash, stopping the clock in 23.60 seconds.
Top 10 finishes were turned in by Arthur Williams in the 400-meter hurdles, 1:01.09 (10th); James Williams in the 100-meter dash, :11.72 (10th); Dillon Norton (Carson City/Crystal) in the discus throw, 34.85m (10th); and Ronald Spruytte (Bellevue) in the pole vault, 3.50m (10th).
The Comets will participate in the Aquinas College Open Meet next Saturday, April 23.
