Men's track and field team opens 2011 season at GVSU Invitational

The Olivet College men's track and field team opened its 2011 seasons by participating in an unscored invitational today at Grand Valley State University. The meet featured more than 1,800 student-athletes from schools all across the Midwest.
Senior Pat Clasgens (Livonia/Stevenson) placed 33rd (out of 89 runners) in the 60-meter dash (7.24 seconds). Junior James Williams (Battle Creek/Central) was 36th in the 60-meter dash (7.25 seconds) and 53rd (out of 118 runners) in the 200-meter dash (:23.26).
Olivet will compete in the Trine (Ind.) University Indoor Invitational next Friday, Feb. 18.
