Track and field teams compete at Anderson Invitational
The men’s and women’s track and field teams competed Saturday evening at the Anderson University Invitational held at the Kardatzke Wellness Center in Anderson, Indiana.
The men’s and women’s track and field teams competed Saturday evening at the Anderson University Invitational held at the Kardatzke Wellness Center in Anderson, Indiana.
On the men’s side, two relays and two individuals scored and finished in the top eight. Bryan Bonner (Mt. Clemens), Joel Gyoromy (North Branch), Randy Place (Bellevue) and Casey Redfield (Shepard) teamed for a second-place finish in the 4x200 meter relay (1:37.51) and a seventh-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay (3:47.48). Gyoromy had the highest individual finish as he placed third in the high jump (6’0”). Robert Horton, Jr. (Charlotte) was fourth in the shot put (14.63m).
On the women’s side, four individuals placed in the top eight. Donna Cripe (Vermontville) finished in seventh-place in the 55 meter dash (7.93 seconds). Ann Marie Keisic (Sterling Heights/Warren Cousino) was eighth in the 800 meter run (2:57.26). Hannah Robbins (Marshall) clocked in eighth-place in the 55 meter hurdles (10.34 seconds). Kristy Zenner (Kingsley) was the Lady Comets’ top finisher as she placed sixth in the shot put (9.87m).
Olivet is next in action Friday, Feb. 11, when it travels for an invitational at Grand Valley State University.
