Burmeister named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Dominik Burmeister has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Defensive Player of the Week.

The honor is for Burmeister's performance in the men's soccer team's 2-0 victory over Defiance (Ohio) College. He helped the Comet defense limit the Yellow Jackets to three shots-on-goal. Olivet also posted a shutout win for the first time since October 13, 2019.

The Comets travel to play Hope College Wednesday for a non-league game, starting at 7 p.m. Olivet starts MIAA play next Tuesday, October 5, when they host Alma College. The game will be played at the Olivet High School turf field and get started at 8 p.m.
