The Olivet College men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker to NCAA Division II foe Northwood University, 1-0, this afternoon at the Gerstacker Field in Midland.
The Timberwolves tallied the only goal with just over five minutes left in the game. Northwood took 26 shots in the game to six for the Comets. Sophomore Chase Anthes (Ludington) had three shots. In goal, junior Ethan Felsing (Mason) made 10 saves, including stopping a penalty kick in the first half.
"We played very well against a very good team," said first-year Head Coach Chad Wiseman. "We had a great defensive effort and held our own with some nice counters. In the final minute, we had two corner kicks and put all 11 guys in the box. I feel that we were still a few bounces away from a win."
Olivet returns to the field tomorrow when it travels to play Rochester College at 1 p.m. The game will be played indoors at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Wixom.
