Felsing named MIAA Player of the Week in men’s soccer

Olivet College junior goalkeeper Ethan Felsing (Mason) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Defensive Player of the Week in men's soccer.
Felsing helped the Comets post back-to-back shutouts last week. In a 0-0 double overtime tie against Hope College Nov. 4, he made 11 saves, including several goal-line stops. In a 1-0 win at Alma College Nov. 7, Felsing had two saves. He also saved a penalty kick with just under three minutes left in the game.
For the season, Felsing recorded nine shutouts and collected 102 saves in goal. He allowed just 14 goals in 1,718 minutes for a 0.73 goals against average.
The Comets finished the 2009 season with an 11-6-3 overall record and were third in the MIAA standings with a 7-4-3 record.
