Men’s soccer team ties DePauw, 2-2
The Olivet College men’s soccer team played to a 2-2 double overtime draw against DePauw (Ind.) University today in the second round of the Denison University Invitational in Granville, Ohio.

The Olivet College men's soccer team played to a 2-2 double overtime draw against DePauw (Ind.) University today in the second round of the Denison University Invitational in Granville, Ohio.
The Comets (0-3-1) scored the first goal of the game in the 15th minute. Senior Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) passed the ball to sophomore Mike May (Mason) in the box, who sent a shot into the back corner of the goal. The Tigers answered with a pair of goals, one in the 16th minute and another in the 22nd minute, to take a 2-1 half lead.
Olivet tied the game on a goal by senior Corey Evans (Mason) in the 16th minute of the second half. Senior Andrew Evans (Eastport/Petoskey) deflected the ball to May, who flicked the ball to Corey Evans for the goal. The only shot in the overtime periods was by DePauw.
May had four of the Comets' 10 shots. Six other players each recorded a shot. In goal, sophomore Ethan Felsing (Mason) faced 14 shots (eight on-goal) and made six saves.
The Comets are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 16, when they host Finlandia University in their home-opener at 3 p.m. Prior to the men's game, the Olivet women will play Finlandia at 1 p.m.
