Behind a goal from senior Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston), the Olivet College men's soccer team defeated Adrian College, 1-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. With the win, the Comets moved into a tie for fourth-place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings with a 5-5 record.
Lockwood, this week's MIAA Offensive Player of the Week, tallied the only goal with 29 minutes left in the game. After receiving a pass from freshman Chase Anthes (Ludington) buried an angled shot from 15 yards out into the back, right corner of the goal.
For the game, Lockwood had a game-high six shots, as Olivet out-shot the Bulldogs, 15-13. In goal, sophomore Ethan Felsing (Mason) made three saves in recording in his second shutout of the season.
Olivet returns to action Tuesday when it plays at MIAA-leader Calvin College at 4 p.m.
