Sophomore Mike May (Mason) scored a goal just 2:12 into the game, and the Olivet College men's soccer team hung on to beat Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Albion College, 1-0, this afternoon at Alumni Field in Albion.
After Albion committed a foul outside the box, May noticed the Briton defense was taking its time to set-up a wall, so he did a quick kick and his shot found the back of the net. Olivet had a 6-5 edge in shots during the first half, while Albion had an 8-4 edge in shots during the second half.
For the game, May finished with a game-high four shots. Senior Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) was second with three shots. In goal, sophomore Ethan Felsing (Mason) collected four saves, two in each half.
Olivet will play its final two games of the season next week, beginning Wednesday when it hosts Alma College at 3 p.m.
