The Olivet College men's soccer team was shutout by Hope College, 3-0, today at Buys Athletic Field in Holland.
Dan Tresslar scored a hat trick to lead the Flying Dutchmen (5-5, 2-2 MIAA). The teams were scoreless until the 68th minute when Tresslar scored his first goal. He added another goal in the 71st minute and completed the hat trick with a goal in the 88th minute.
Hope had 11 shots each half, and the Comets (3-7, 1-3 MIAA) were limited to a shot each half. Senior Marcus Matthews (Buckley) and freshman Mike May (Mason) recorded a shot a piece. In goal, sophomore Ethan Felsing (Mason) collected seven saves.
Olivet looks to rebound from the loss Wednesday, Oct. 3, when it hosts Alma College at 4 p.m.
