Men’s soccer team bows to Wilmington (Ohio), 2-1
The Olivet College men’s soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to the host Quakers tonight in the first round of the Wilmington (Ohio) College Kiwanis Invitational.

The Olivet College men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to the host Quakers tonight in the first round of the Wilmington (Ohio) College Kiwanis Invitational. The Comets will play Macalester (Minn.) College tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
The Quakers (3-3) led 1-0 at halftime behind an unassisted goal just six minutes into the game. Olivet (2-3) tied the game at 1-1 in the 64th minute. Freshman Mike May (Mason) scored the goal off an assist from senior Marcus Matthews (Buckley). Wilmington tallied the game-winner in the 79th minute.
For the game, Olivet took eight shots, including six on-goal. May along with Brian Knechtges (Williamston) and Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) had two shots a piece. In goal, sophomore Ethan Felsing (Mason) faced 13 shots and collected four saves.
After tomorrow's game, Olivet will host Tri-State (Ind.) University Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m. The game will be the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener for both schools.
