The Olivet College men's soccer team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Hope College, 5-0, today in Olivet.
The Flying Dutchmen (10-6-1, 7-3-1 MIAA) took a 2-0 halftime lead behind a pair of goals by Dan Tresslar. The goals came in a span of just over one minute. Hope added another goal in the 53rd minute, followed by goals in the 71st and 89th minutes of play.
The Comets (5-12, 3-8 MIAA) finished with nine shots, including five on-goal. Freshman Matt Manning (Charlotte) had a team-leading three shots, two on-goal. Freshman Mike May (Mason) was second with two shots. In goal, sophomore Ethan Felsing (Mason) faced 26 shots, while collecting 12 saves.
Olivet returns to the field Saturday when it travels to play Alma College. The game at Scotland Yard in Alma gets under way at 2 p.m.
