The Olivet College men's soccer team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Albion College, 3-1, this afternoon at Alumni Field in Albion.
The Britons scored the first goal of the game in the 28th minute. The Fighting Comets responded tied the score at 1-1 with a goal just under five minutes remaining in the first half. Off a corner kick, senior midfielder Eric Cole (Eaton Rapids High School) tipped the ball to junior midfielder Jason Shinabarger (Grand Blanc High School), who then passed the ball to freshman midfielder Ryan Kingsley (Fowlerville High School) for the goal.
Albion scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 61st minute and an insurance goal in the 67th minute.
In the game, Olivet recorded six shots, including two by sophomore midfielder/forward Rudy Pulido (Holt High School). In goal, sophomore Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School) played the first 75:27 and made three saves. Freshman Brad Polcyn (Marshall High School) finished the game in goal and made one save.
The Comets are next in action on Saturday, Oct. 25 when they host Adrian College at 1:30 p.m.
