Men’s lacrosse team blanks Green Mountain, 24-0
The Olivet College men’s lacrosse team improved to 4-1 this season with a 24-0 shutout win over Green Mountain College. With the win, the Comets have won four straight games, including the last three by more than 18 goals.
CASTLETON, Vt. – The Olivet College men's lacrosse team improved to 4-1 this season with a 24-0 shutout win over Green Mountain College in a non-conference game played at Castleton (Vt.) State College. With the win, the Comets have won four straight games, including the last three by more than 18 goals.
Olivet recorded 51 shots and led 10-0 after one quarter, 17-0 at halftime and 20-0 after three quarters. Meanwhile the Comets held the Eagles to only four total shots in the game, including just one in the second half.
Freshman James Collins (Lowell) paced Olivet with nine total points on six shots and three goals. Freshmen Matt Arb (Troy/Athens) and Cameron Bazin (Troy/Athens) each finished with six points, four goals and two assists, and five goals and one assist, respectively.
Freshman Dakota Badder (Troy/Athens) was next with two goals and team-leading three assists for five points. Freshman Jordan Stover (Clarkston) won 10-of-12 face-offs. Sophomore Ryan McGee (Traverse City/Central) had just two saves, both coming in the first quarter.
The Comets will conclude their trip to Vermont with a game Thursday against Lyndon State College at 3 p.m.
