Men’s golf team finishes 13th at Lou Collins Memorial

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in 13th-place at the 2021 Lou Collins Memorial Tournament, hosted by the Comets at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.

• After carding a 354 team in Friday's first round, all five Comets improved their score in today's second round to help Olivet total 342 strokes for a two-round score of 696 strokes.
• Hope College and Trine (Ind.) University posted matching 599 team scores. Hope was declared the team champion with a lower fifth-man score.
• Mohmoud Saad birdied the playoff hole to secure individual medalist honors. He and Parker Pickell from Kalamazoo shot identical two-under 142s. Saad had the low round of the tournament with a 68 in today's final round.

• Junior Wes Darrow shaved six strokes off his first round score to post a two-round total of 166 (86-80) strokes.
• Olivet's next three golfers dropped only stroke apiece from their first-round score.
• Sophomore Liam Carter had an 86, followed by an 85 for a two-day score of 171 strokes.
• In his first collegiate tournament, freshman Connor Jewell carded a 175 (88-87).
• Sophomores Blake McLane and Kaleb Keathley finished with matching 187 two-round scores. McLane had a 94 in the first round and 93 in the second round. Keathley had the best improvement from round one to round two, shooting a 97 in the first round and 90 in the second round.
