Kiss named assistant golf coach at Olivet College

OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College Head Golf Coach Bill Maas has announced the hiring of Joe Kiss as an assistant coach for the Comets' golf staff. Kiss will be handling the day-to-day activities of the men's golf program.

Kiss is a 2008 Olivet College graduate. He played four season of golf for the Comets. Kiss was a three-time All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association honoree, a First Team selection in 2006 and 2007, and Second Team pick in 2004. During his senior season, Kiss competed as an individual at the 2008 NCAA Division III Championships and was later named a PING All-America Third Team honoree.

Over 72.5 career rounds, Kiss averaged 76.3 strokes. He was the medalist at six events and placed in the top five 23 times. Kiss' career-best 18-hole score was a four-under par 68 at the Pine River Country Club (September 16, 2006) and Zollner Golf Course (September 23, 2006).

After graduating from Olivet, Kiss spent four years as the pro shop assistant at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. He then became the assistant head professional at Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta in 2018. Kiss competed at the 2021 Michigan Open at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa – The Bear in Traverse City and the sectional round for the 2021 US Open in Columbus, Ohio.
