UOlivet loses to Adrian, 81-73

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's basketball lost 81-73 to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Adrian College this afternoon inside the Cutler Event Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs gained a 24-point lead, 34-10, at the 8:32 mark of the first half. The Comets used a 17-2 run to trim their deficit down to nine points, 36-27, in the final minute of the half. Adrian 39-29 at halftime. Olivet closed the gap to six points, 41-35, early in the second half. The Bulldogs pushed their advantage back to 14 points, 51-37, at the 15:24 mark. The Comets got the deficit back to six points, 55-49, around the midpoint of the second half. Adrian kept at least a six-point lead until there were two minutes remaining when sophomore Conner Schipper drained a three-pointer to make the score 74-69. Olivet did not get any closer.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Nathan Richardson led all players with 30 points.
- Schipper contributed 18 points and four assists.
- Freshman Porter Kretschman pulled down a team-leading seven rebounds.
- Kretschman and Richardson each recorded five steals.

- The Comets play their next four games on the road. The first of the four is next Wednesday, January 29, against Alma College. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
