Olivet College’s Krum named second-team All-MIAA for men's basketball
Olivet College sophomore guard Blake Krum (Schoolcraft) has earned 2012-13 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team honors for men’s basketball.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore guard Blake Krum (Schoolcraft) has earned 2012-13 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team honors for men's basketball. All-league honors are based on a player's statistics during the 14-game MIAA schedule.
Under the leadership of first-year Head Coach Chris Coles, the Comets posted an 11-14 overall record and were fifth in the MIAA with a 6-8 record.
Krum started all 14 games for the Comets and was fourth in the MIAA in scoring at 16.1 points per game (ppg). He also ranked in the top 10 in minutes played (first, 510), free throw percentage (second, .895), steals (third, 25), steals per game (third, 1.79), three-point field goals made (third, 32), assists (seventh, 37) and three-point field goal percentage (seventh, .410). Krum scored in double figures in 13 games, with a single-game high 23 points in the season-finale at Hope College Feb. 13.
For the entire 25-game schedule, Krum led the team in field goals percentage (.455), free throw percentage (.847) and steals (42). He was second in scoring (14.0 ppg), field goals made (126), three-point field goals made (48) and assists (69).
