Olivet College’s Way named MIAA Player of the Week
Olivet College senior point guard Brandon Way (Detroit/Southwestern) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week for men’s basketball. Way scored 45 points, helping the Comets win a pair of league games last week.

In an 87-61 win over Kalamazoo College Feb. 20, Way scored 25 points, including seven three-pointers, and in an 82-65 win over Calvin College Feb. 23, he scored 20 points. For the week, he made 16-of-35 baskets, including 9-of-20 from three-point range, and 4-of-4 free throws. Way also had nine assists, three rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot.
For the season, Way is tied for second on the team in scoring at 12.0 points per game. He leads the team with 60 three-pointers and 64 assists. Way is just two three-pointers shy of breaking Olivet's single-season record.
Olivet (9-15, 5-9 MIAA) will travel to play Calvin in the first round of the 2008 MIAA Tournament Wednesday night. Tip-off from the Knollcrest Fieldhouse in Grand Rapids is 7:30 p.m.
