A school-record 171 Olivet College student-athletes have earned 2019-20 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Academic Honor Roll honors.
Nine Olivet College student-athletes were recently recognized by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education as a 2020 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar for their dedication to academics and athletics. Olivet’s honorees are Riley Bennett, Griffin Hammond, Liam Kinjorski, Kea Kunz, Karina Marin, Cameron Ramos, Yul Snell, Samantha Torres and Rachel Webb. Seniors Jarod Bush and Nicole Deweyert are the recipients of the Olivet College Walter B. Sprandel and Linda Hoover awards for the 2019-20 academic year. These awards are presented annually to the top male and female senior student-athlete for his and her contributions to the college in athletic performance, exemplary conduct and high academic achievement.
Olivet College sophomore defensive back Anthony Merriman has been named to the 2019 D3football.com All-North Region third-team.
Eight Olivet College football players have garnered 2019 All-MIAA Teams. Senior offensive linemen Jarod Bush and Daniel Waber, senior defensive lineman Miguel Manion, senior running back Noah McMinn, sophomore defensive back Anthony Merriman, freshman defensive back Isaiah Moon and senior linebacker Kolby Williams are All-MIAA First Team selections. Sophomore tight end Seth Young is an All-MIAA Second Team pick.
