OLIVET, Mich. – The 2015 Olivet College football schedule has been posted on the website. The Comets will play 10 total games, five at home inside the Cutler Athletic Complex and five away games.
Olivet opens the season Saturday, Sept. 5, when it hosts Earlham (Ind.) College. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. This will be the third time in school history that the schools have played each other, and the Comets have won each of the previous two games – 20-19 at Earlham on Nov. 15, 1947 and 25-0 in Olivet on Nov. 14, 1959.
Olivet will then travel to Kenosha, Wis., to play Carthage College in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Challenge. The Comets have faced the Big Red only one time in school history and lost 31-6 on Sept. 13, 1980. Game time is 1 p.m. CDT.
Olivet returns home to face Aurora (Ill.) University in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference-MIAA Challenge. A year ago, the Comets defeated the Spartans on their home field, 49-20, in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
After a bye week, Olivet welcomes Adrian College to the Cutler Athletic Complex on Oct. 3 for its Homecoming contest, starting at 2 p.m. The Comets then travel to play Trine (Ind.) University before returning home to play Hope College.
Following a road game at Kalamazoo College, Olivet hosts Albion College on Halloween. The Comets will then play their final two games of the 2014 season away from Olivet. On Nov. 7, Olivet makes the trip to play Concordia (Wis.) University for the first-ever game against the Falcons at noon CDT. The Comets then close out their regular season one week later at Alma College.
With the exception of the Homecoming game on Oct. 3 and the game at Kalamazoo on Oct. 24, the other start times for the MIAA contests will be 1 p.m.
