Neilsen named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week
Olivet College sophomore fullback Drew Neilsen (Belding High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last Saturday’s 33-22 win over Adrian College.
Olivet College sophomore fullback Drew Neilsen (Belding High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last Saturday's 33-22 win over Adrian College.
Neilsen carried the ball 35 times for a career-high 251 yards with three touchdowns. He scored on runs of nine, 10 and 61 yards. For the season, Neilsen leads the team with 87 carries for 617 yards and five touchdowns. He ranks first in the MIAA in rushing at 166.7 yards per game.
Neilsen and the Fighting Comets (4-2, 1-2 MIAA) are back in action Saturday, Oct. 23, at Tri-State (Ind.) University. Kickoff from Shive Field is slated for 1:30 p.m. ET.
