Davis and Lehman Named to the 2002 Football Gazette All-North Region Team
Olivet College football players Dock Davis (Battle Creek Central High School) and Travis Lehman (Lake Odessa/Lakewood High School) have been named to the 2002 Football Gazette Division III All-North Region third-team.
OLIVET, MI. -- Olivet College football players Dock Davis (Battle Creek Central High School) and Travis Lehman (Lake Odessa/Lakewood High School) have been named to the 2002 Football Gazette Division III All-North Region third-team.
Davis and Lehman were key players for the Fighting Comets, which finished the 2002 season with a 5-4 overall record and 3-3 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) mark. It was the first winning season for Olivet since 1998 and the third in the last 25 years.
Davis, a senior offensive lineman, blocked for an offense that led the MIAA in rushing (298.8 ypg). The Fighting Comets also set six single-season team records, including net rushing yards (2,689) and total offense (3,542). Davis was selected to the first-team All-MIAA squad.
Lehman, a senior defensive back, ended the season with 42 tackles, including 23 solo stops. He was tabbed as the MIAA Most Valuable Defensive Player, a first-team All-MIAA pick and Olivet's Defensive MVP. In his four years at Olivet, Lehman had 160 tackles with 10.5 tackles for loss.
