KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The University of Olivet baseball team fell to Kalamazoo College, 7-2, in the final game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) weekend series at Woodworth Field. The game started on Friday but was halted due to lightning. Play resumed Sunday afternoon.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- On Friday, the Comets had runners on second and third base with nobody out in the first inning. The Hornets got out of the jam with two strikeouts and a foul out. Kalamazoo's first batter struck out and then play was halted.
- Olivet scored the first run of the game in the third inning. Junior Tyler Duncan was hit by a pitch, stole second base, went to third on a throwing error by the catcher, and scored on junior Brody Parten's RBI-single.
- Kalamazoo answered with two runs in its half of the third and another run in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead. The Comets closed the gap to 3-2 with an unearned run in the sixth inning. The Hornets ended the game by scoring the final four runs – two in the sixth and one in both the seventh and eighth innings.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet had nine hits. Parten, senior Mason Cook and sophomore Jack Friesen each recorded two hits. Friesen's and Parten's hits were two singles, while Cook had a double and a single.
- On the mound, junior Bryan Carney was the losing putcher. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and three hits over the first five innings. Sophomore Logan Lewis threw the final three innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks.

- Olivet travels to Alma College tomorrow for a doubleheader against the Scots, beginning at 1 p.m.
