OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College Athletic Director Haley Diringer has announced Shelby Dixon has resigned from his head baseball coaching position to pursue an opportunity outside coaching.
"I would like to thank Shelby for his dedication to the Olivet baseball program over the last six years," said Diringer. "He did a great job at leading the players on and off the field. I am optimistic we will be able to find the right coach to lead the Comets in the future."
At Olivet, Dixon served as head coach for three seasons from 2020-22 and an assistant coach for three years from 2017-19. The Comets increased their win total from one year to the next during his three years as head coach, going from four wins in 2020 to six wins in 2021 and nine wins in 2022. In addition, the 2022 team featured 15 seniors for one of the largest graduating classes in school history.
A national search for a new head baseball coach has begun.
