The Olivet College baseball team split a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader against Trine (Ind.) University this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. The Thunder held off a Comet rally in the seventh inning to win the first game, 5-3. In the nightcap, Riley Bennett hit a grand slam and Zac Walter threw a complete game to help Olivet beat the Thunder, 5-1.

The Bulldogs won the first game 9-1. Olivet rallied from an 8-0 deficit to send the second game to extra innings before falling 10-9 in 10 innings.

The Comets lost their opener to Spalding, 12-2, before bouncing back to beat University of Wis.-Platteville, 7-6, in 10 innings.
