The Comets rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to win game one, 8-7, and lost game two, 8-7. With the split, Olivet is tied with Adrian College for second-place in the MIAA standings with a 6-2 record.

The Olivet College baseball team swept a doubleheader from Kalamazoo College this afternoon at Woodworth Field in Kalamazoo. The Comets won the first game, 9-1, behind a complete game pitching performance from David Pembroke (Bay City/John Glenn). In the second game, Olivet won, 5-4, in 10 innings when senior Eric Quinn (Port Huron/Northern) hit a sacrifice fly to score junior Ryan Hodges (Swartz Creek) with the winning run.

Baseball team sweeps doubleheader from Tri-State, 6-5 and 4-1

Behind two complete game pitching performances, the Olivet College baseball team swept a doubleheader from Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Tri-State (Ind.) University, 6-5 and 4-1, today in Olivet. Due to poor field conditions in Angola, the doubleheader was played in Olivet, so Tri-State was treated as the home team. With the sweep, the Comets win the weekend series against the Thunder.
