Shelhart named to 2007 All-Mideast Region team

Olivet College senior Chris Shelhart (Rolling Meadows, Ill./St. Viator) has been named to the 2007 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region third-team.

In 2007, Shelhart led the Comets in batting average (.407), runs scored (39), hits (59), doubles (11), home runs (four), total bases (84), stolen bases (15), on-base percentage (.497) and slugging percentage (.579). He also drove in 27 runs. Shelhart ends a stellar four-year career as Olivet's all-time leader in eight offensive categories, including .385 batting average, .625 slugging percentage, 183 hits, 122 runs scored, 38 doubles, 19 home runs, 109 RBI and 292 total bases.

Shelhart, a three-time first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association selection, earned second-team All-Mideast Region honors in 2005.
